The Wine
Born from an ancient namesake, Perrarus is an unrivaled entity of rare excellence. It stands in defiance of the expected. The precision in its creation brings forth an experience of wine that is inarguably scarce, close to impossible. In it, one recognizes caramel, chocolate, and fire. Char and earth. Wilderness. The distant. The personal. Each vessel is just as unique as the tasting—a perfectly matched physical vase to hold the articulate bloom, hand-blown glass bottles are original, artful. Each is a treasure.
The Man
Lawrence Fairchild is anything but a common man. From Nebraska to Capitol Hill to San Francisco, his intellectual passion and insatiable curiosity have led the way. He grew up a cattle and crop farm boy who developed the kind of high work ethic that lasts a lifetime. He nurtured his longing for culture, art, and design as a young man on the West Lawn—sipping phenomenal wines among leaders of the free world to a live soundtrack by the National Symphony—and eventually found himself in San Francisco, a Midwestern, agriculturalist-turned-politico-turned-culturally atuned anomaly. A stand-out. Unexpected.
The Setting
Soil is key. Five very specific neighboring vineyards in the heart of California's prized Napa Valley wine country are meticulously tended to produce wine that is as close to perfect as earthly possible. An inordinate number of hours spent precisely assessing details go into ensuring our wine fully reflects the singular combination of rock, drainage, and minerality found in only our land. Everything in concert, this is growing fruit from stone.
